About Sanctuaries Awakening LLC

 

Sanctuaries Awakening LLC is the parent company of Florida Lymph Drainage and Awakening Sanctuaries, two integrative wellness practices rooted in science, personal experience, and a commitment to whole-person care.

 

The vision for this work began nearly 26 years ago. At the time, I was a student deeply immersed in medical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with a dual academic background in Biology and Psychology. My curiosity centered around the powerful connection between emotional and physical health—a link I believed deserved deeper exploration.

 

As I advanced in my career, I also witnessed the ways in which medical research could be shaped by external influences, particularly from pharmaceutical funding. This raised important ethical questions and challenged the trust I had placed in conventional systems of care. Still, I held onto a core belief: that healing should be centered around the individual, not just the diagnosis.

 

Then, my personal health journey began. Despite seeing multiple specialists and receiving several diagnoses, the conventional treatments left me feeling disheartened and unwell. It wasn’t until I began to explore complementary and integrative approaches—modalities that addressed the body, mind, and nervous system together—that I began to experience true progress.

 

Through this journey, I discovered what I now call the “inner sanctuary”—a place within each of us where healing begins. This realization inspired my first solo practice in 2008, Sanctuary’s Awakening, a name that reflected my own path toward wholeness.

 

Years later, after relocating across the country and gaining deeper clinical experience, I launched Sanctuaries Awakening LLC—a broader platform designed not only to reflect my own healing story, but to offer others a place to begin or deepen theirs.

 

Today, Sanctuaries Awakening is more than a name. It’s a philosophy. We provide gentle, evidence-informed therapies—including lymphatic drainage, somatic work, and nervous system regulation—that support the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Whether you're navigating chronic illness, recovering from stress or trauma, or simply seeking deeper balance, our approach is tailored, compassionate, and rooted in both science and lived experience.
